June Finds

June was a good month with a lot of cool pieces added to the collection including some Best Six contenders. Including two Champion bar mounted corkscrews (one with a rare advertising plaque and the other a rare art deco example), several carved examples including a monk holding a mug of beer, a lion head, a carved ivory dog corkscrew, a Gorham ivory carved log with some grape leaves/grape clusters, a large carved stag horn corkscrew with a dog chasing a deer, a boars tusk with a carved bulldog head, a stag handled corkscrew with a carved monkey head. Other unique finds include an antique gun tool with double helix, a beautiful ivory and Sterling handled mechanical corkscrews by J.A. Henckles, another mechanical corkscrews most-likely by J.A. Henckles with ivory tusk and Sterling silver endcap engraved "Bryn Mawr horse show 1898 1st price class 27", another corkscrew inscribed "Fragment of ancient Eskimo sled runner made from fossil - Point Barrow Alaska", as well as a unique carved bottle corker and some other corkscrews.
